One of the fantastic qualities of the English language is that as it
has evolved, certain words who's humble origins were of an entirely
innocent meaning, with new generations may have taken on definitions of
a cheeky variety. At the very least this provides for snicker material
for the less mature of us all who have no problem taking there mind for
a stroll through the gutter. It's hard to imagine a time where it ever
made sense to name a street Butt Hole Road or a town Penistone, but
apparently this time did exist, and thankfully so do these places.
Self titled Scatalogical Geographical Etymolgists Rob Bailey and Ed
Hurst have searched the globe for fine signed examples of our rude
world and have gathered enough material to produce 3 books on the
