Maura Cluthe has been creating for as long as she can remember. Encouraged and supported by her family, she cut and pasted, drew, and painted her way through her childhood and now makes "cartoon-y, collage-y, mixed media stuff". With lots of different and odd little characters, sometimes romantic colours and shapes, Cluthe's artworks are, in her words, "puzzles I'm trying to solve".
She has been part of a bunch of exhibitions throughout the US as well as a handful of magazines. Her characters are gentle and thoughtful and I think the ones with pickle noses looks like a character from Hey Arnold! No? Anyone?
