Since I was introduced to Dam-Funk, suffice to say I've been a little bit obsessy. He's just announced an Australian tour and everybody in the country should go. Except the eggheads.
Here are the dates:
Friday 7th May: The Manor, Perth
Saturday 8th May: Rocket Bar, Adelaide
Friday 14th May: Roxanne Palour, Melbourne
Saturday 15th May: The Basement, Sydney
Live in Los Angeles in December:

Sleigh Bells debut on MIA's label

Heaps blogged duo Sleigh Bells have finally decided how/where/when to release their first musical project. Their debut LP will be released on M.I.A.'s label N.E.E.T. – slated for release in mid-May, the album's called Treats and probably will be one.

The xx and Florence and the Machine and The Very Best were all in Australia for the Laneway Festivals last month, and it's pretty cute to think that the three of them became best friends and decided to to this together. I have zero idea if that's how it happened, but it sounds kind of good.

Don't kill live music

The S.L.A.M. 'Don't Kill Live Music' event is on tomorrow afternoon in Melbourne. The Government has decided that live music is a trigger for venues being labelled 'high risk'. The protest tomorrow is to empower and show support for small live music venues who are struggling with the State Government's (oftentimes unfair) pressures.
Meet at the State Library at 4pm, march down Swanston Street. It's strictly a no alcohol event, don't ruin the message by being the drunk fucktard vomiting.
Save live music.
